Most Anticipated YA Releases of Summer 2020
Hey guys,
Today I will be sharing with you the most anticipated young adult books that are being released between now until the end of summer essentially. Now not all of these books are ones that I, personally, are highly anticipating but are ones that are generally very anticipated within our community.
Let's get into it
1. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
Release Date: May 19th, 2020
Today I will be sharing with you the most anticipated young adult books that are being released between now until the end of summer essentially. Now not all of these books are ones that I, personally, are highly anticipating but are ones that are generally very anticipated within our community.
Let's get into it
1. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
Release Date: May 19th, 2020
Of course, this prequel to the forever popular and innovating Hunger Games trilogy just had to be on this list. In both a surprising and sort of unsurprising way, this book kinda flew under my radar for a while. I never exactly got into the Hunger Games when everyone else did back like 10 years ago although I read the first one and was very interested. However, the news of this prequel eluded me for quite a while. As someone active in the YA book community, that's surprising, but with dealing with school and relationships and mental health lately I guess I haven't been as up-to-date as I like to be.
2. Blood & Honey by Shelby Mahurin
Release Date: September 1st, 2020
Now this is another member of a series however this is the sequel to the book Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin. Although I haven't read the first book, after reading the description I am genuinely hooked and very interested in buying and reading it. It says to be filled with dark magic and steamy romance and "perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas" and with that Goodreads, COUNT ME IN! Very excited for this book to come out and hopefully get a jump on the series.
3. The Silvered Serpents by Roshani Chokshi
Release Date: September 22nd, 2020
This is definitely an anticipated sequel in the YA community with the die-hard following that Roshani Chokshi has. This is the second novel to The Gilded Wolves which I have heard many good things about. The first book is known for many twists and turns that just keeps you flipping the pages and I am sure that this book will not disappoint either!
4. My Calamity Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows
Release Date: June 2nd, 2020
Once again, this is yet another astounding sequel. The Lady Janies series by a group of astounding women authors is definitely on a lot of people's favorites lists, and just based by the description of this next installment, this is going to be yet another hit!
5. The Tower of Nero by Rick Riordan
Release Date: September 29th, 2020
Now I know we all know Rick Riordan as he is one of the great authors of this generation and with his endless amount of books, he is able to keep people enchanted for as long as they wish. Now I haven't read The Trials of Apollo series and so I don't exactly have a deep say in this 5th installment but I am sure that this will be just as amazing as all of the other books that he's written in the past.
6. Loveless by Alice Oseman
Release Date: July 9th, 2020
Now if you were thinking, "well damn all of these are parts of series and I haven't read them", well fear not, this book on the list is a stand-alone! This definitely sounds like a really interesting contemporary read that I am totally down for. Georgia, the main character, is without any love but still a romantic at heart. Plus, she goes to college in this book which makes it perfect for those heading into college for the first time or just for another year because I know when I was first heading into college I really enjoyed reading books with the setting of it because there just aren't many. But Alice Oseman has solved that and added another to the mix! When this comes out in July I just may need to go and pick it up to give it a read!
7. Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles
Release Date: Auguest 25th, 2020
This is the first novel in a new series named Kingdom of Cards and it deals with a very interesting subject that seems to be coming up more and more in YA: magicians. This seems to be dealing a lot with danger, daringness, secrets and circus and from those who have already read it, it seems to be well-loved!
Those are all the books I will be sharing with you today but I will be updating you guys more on some of the upcoming releases as well!
Go and check out these books when they are released!
Thanks for reading,
Delaney M.
I am literally so excited for each and every single one of the books that you listed in this post. I just can't wait to save up some more money so that I can buy them. Wonderful post and I hope you have a great day :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so amazing!!! Definitely save up and buy them if you are so excited! Thank you for the very kind comment and hope you keep coming back!
DeleteI'm so excited for The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I've been debating on whether I should pre-order it for the longest time (and I never preorder anything so that's saying a lot). That and Midnight Sun. I feel like my pre-teen years are coming back!
ReplyDeleteTotally! With Midnight Sun coming out (sorry for missing it I definitely have to put that in, somehow in my mind it was coming out in late September) I totally feel like twelve years old again reading Twilight in my bedroom closet and I got through all of them so quickly!
