Meet Cute : Some People Are Destined to Meet - Book Review

Hi guys!
Today I will be reviewing Meet Cute which is, if you don't know, a book that is a collection of short stories of "meet cutes" which really just means like how a relationship begins.

Tons of different amazing authors contributed stories to this anthology so here is the list of their names.

So as you can see, there are so many amazing people that wrote these stories. 

First I wanna say that I thought that the idea for this was a really cute one. It was unbelievably original and I am so happy that I picked it up. I love that fluffy good feeling with contemporary romances and although these were just the "meet cutes" and not the relationship itself, the majority of the stories still gave me that feeling inside. 

When I first started reading this however, the first couple of stories just didn't peak my interest enough. I don't know if I was expecting something different or it was just me needing to take a bit more time or the story itself, but I thought "damn I really thought I was gonna love this book". However I ended up pushing past those moments and there were so many stories in here that I absolutely loved. Whether they brought on so many emotions for me like Hourglass by Ibi Zoboi or I just loved the feeling I had while reading it like with The Dictionary of You and Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout. 

I thought that the inclusivity of all different people loving one another was amazing. The prominent display of "meet cutes" for LGBTQIA+ people was a nice thing to see as an ally to those. HAPPY PRIDE MONTH. Also the fact that different races and ethnicities were main characters was a refreshing call which especially for me reading it in today's atmosphere with the BLM Movement and protests across, not only the US, but the world. It seems only right that every different person is displayed in this anthology and I am so glad it did.

I especially loved The Unlikely Likelihood of Falling in Love by Jocelyn Davies. As a math nerd who took AP Stats in high school, I felt like I could connect with Sam on that level and I also thought it was just a really cool idea. 

There were honestly so many stories in this book that struck me. They were all so different and unique and the fact that these authors came together to make this amazing collection is wonderful. 

Some of my favorites that I haven't mentioned were:

• 259 Million Miles by Kass Morgan
• The Department of Dead Love by Nicola Yoon 
• This is honestly, probably my favorite story of the group. It was so original and so amazing and it was so perfect to be the last story of the book because it was originally all about getting that dead love back but still a meet cute in its own way. I may be the only YA lover to not have read Nicola Yoon, but after this story, I definitely think I need to be picking up whatever she writes. 
• Say Everything by Huntley Fitzpatrick
• The Intern by Sara Shepard

I highly recommend going to pick up this book, it was really amazing and perfect for short stints of reading but you can also marathon it through as it's small. 

All in all, I think I have to give this book 4.5 out of 5 yellow roses only because of that beginning feeling I had, but the rest.... well the rest was fantastic.
